AA overhaul base to stay open

American Airlines announced today that it was sparing the former TWA overhaul base at KCI. The struggling company had been about close the facility, but persistent lobbying from city and state leaders and generous tax incentives swayed American. 2,000 American jobs and another 3000 related jobs are secure for now.
