Hot (gassy) air in Jeff City

While schools across Missouri continue cutting programs, laying off teachers, and asking local voters for more money – our honorable(?) state reps are farting away their duties, almost literally. The Star reports that recent House debate over the state budget, especially education funding, sank so low that Republican Majority Leader Jason Crowell started making farting noises in the microphone to drown out his Democratic opponents.
Let’s say that again: On the floor of the House of Representatives, the leader of the Republican party was making farting noises. Maybe it’s not so surprising considering that another party leader, House Speaker Pro Tem Rod Jetton, heckled the governor during his State of the State speech in January.

What an ass. Leaders like that make me embarrassed to be a Republican.
