KCTV Channel 5’s Dave Helling has an investigative report on allegations of illegal drug use by Claire McCaskill, Missouri State Auditor and Democratic candidate for Governor. Helling has uncovered FBI inquiries into McCaskill’s drug use in the 1990s, while she was serving as Jackson County Prosecutor. In an extensive interview, McCaskill admits to youthful indiscretions in the 1970s, but is adament about being clean throughout her tenure of public service. Her supportors blame the 1990s investigation on political rival and former US Attorney Steve Hill.

Not surprising that Hill would be involved. There was so much corruption and bitter fighting in Jackson County back in the 1990s, worse than today’s Shields vs. Sanders fights over the drug tax. Youthful experimentation isn’t such a big deal these days. As long as she wasn’t actually using while she was in public office.

I agree youthful indiscretions are not such a big deal. Whats surprising to me is that Steve Hill did not indict her.
