The financially precarious Clay County government owes the city of Kansas City over $3 million in TIF funds that is has been collecting from projects like Barry Towne, Shoal Creek Valley, and Chouteau Crossing. Appareantly the county has been spending the money on other projects, rather than passing it along to the city. [...]

US House candidate Jamie Metzl’s new banner ads criticize Emanuel Cleaver’s failure to attend any meetings of the MoDOT Blue Ribbon Commission, convened to recommend ways to improve the beleaguered transportation department. The Business Journal reports that the Arts Council of Metropolitan Kansas City is forming a Political Action Committee.
