Mill Creek Park on the Plaza is one of the city’s most popular parks. In addition to the regular crowd of joggers, dog walkers, soccer and volleyball players, politcal protesters, and wedding parties – it’s also the site of many large fund-raising events like the AIDS Walk, Heart Walk, etc. Unfortunately, all of this activity is taking it’s toll on the park and the Parks Department is considering limiting its use by large events. Hopefully they will encourage groups to look at Penn Valley Park and the new Riverfront Park, both of which are excellent venues for big regional events.
