Selecting an architect for the new arena just got a little nastier. First, the competing architects have been talking smack. Now, KC Council Watch notes that The Star is suing the city to make the architect selection process public. Missouri has a strong open meetings law (a.k.a. The Sunshine Law) for government entities, so the odds are probably in the Star’s favor in this one.

Great! I emailed the Mayor last week asking that she support the open meetings. It’s too bad that they’re having to be taken to court to open ‘em. Almost makes the pessimist in me wonder what they’re trying to hide.
