Evolution getting the hell out of Dodge again
September 28, 2004 |
A repeat of The Great Embarrassment of 1999 is about to take place. Wingnut Republicans are poised to take over the Kansas State Board of Education in November, and are eager to once again rewrite the state’s science curriculum. Besides bringing national humiliation, this debate could also endanger the thousands of jobs being added to the metro area’s life science industry. And while most of the metro area is in Missouri, we will all have to endure the embarrassment by association/confusion. Write letters to the board and your reps now. A forum will be held tonight at the Universtiy of Kansas in Lawrence.

Bruce Wyatt–who lost the primary, was a friend of my in-laws and attended the same church. He’s a middle western Republican who was scared to death of the fundamentalists and the anti-science agenda (I used to think that was over the top, but no more)
