Twinkies and Ho-Hos go belly up

You haven’t heard of Intersate Bakeries Corp., but you have heard of Hostess, Twinkies, Wonder Bread, and other products from this local company. Today IBC filed bankruptcy, a victim of the low carb trend and bad management. It’s one of the region’s few remaining Fortune 500 companies, with headquarters in Midtown Kansas City at Main and Armour and bakeries throughout Missouri. The company hopes to reorganize and stay in business.
