Bistate 2 shows bad poll numbers
October 24, 2004 |
The Star and KMBC-TV 9 have the first and only independent poll of Bistate 2, and it’s below 50% in all three of the core counties. It’s no surprise that the sports side of the proposal is dragging down the whole thing.
| County | For | Against | Undecided |
| Jackson | 43% | 49% | 7% |
| Clay | 38% | 49% | 12% |
| Johnson | 39% | 51% | 10% |
Margin of error: 4%

I find two thing interesting in these poll numbers:
(1) much-maligned JoCo voters don’t oppose Bi-State II much more than Clay or Jackson County voters, and
(2) the article points out that most voters are more disposed to spend a bunch of money on the arts than the sports teams.
Interesting stuff.
