KC Council Watch mentions a good article discussing the migration of Kansas City’s Jewish community to the Kansas suburbs. Unlike most Jews who usually settle in urban areas, KC’s Jews long ago fled their Brookside and southern KC neighborhoods for south Johnson County. Now, all but one of the temples and synagogs have followed.

So far, this is one community that has not yet been tempted by a revitalized urban core, or a even in a move to the latest and greatest suburbs in the Northland or Lee’s Summit.
