Politically correct border war

Border WarPolitical correctness has claimed the MU-KU Border War rivalry, which will now be known as the Border Showdown. This was the one atheletic rivalry that actually did begin as a war, the Civil War era clashes between the bushwhackers and jayhawkers on the Missouri-Kansas border.

Maybe it’s time to burn Lawrence again?

    Wow. I’m a ‘99 KU grad, and I have to say this is the stupidest news out of KU in a long long time. I’ve honestly been considering replying to one of those beg-a-thon letters from Endowment, but instead I think I’ll send some cash up to Oregon and Oregon State, where they proudly play out their Civil War year after year.

    Just when I was starting to like Lew Perkins, too…
