Adapting KCI’s unique curb-to-gate design to modern security rules has been difficult. Today the Business Journal and The Star report that the Aviation Department has finally relented to the number one airport complaint, and will be adding restrooms to the gate areas by the end of summer 2005! Even though KCI has very short security lines (six minutes on average), it’s still a pain to go back through security after visiting the restroom or newsstand. Concessions will also be added to the gate areas.
