CBS affiliate KCTV 5 is taking over the management of WB affiliate KSHB-TV 62. KSHB is currently located at Cambridge Circle in KCK, but it’s operations will be merged into KCTV’s Fairway, KS office. Similar arrangements already exist in the KC market, with ABC’s KMBC 9 operating the UPN station KCWE 29 and NBC’s KSHB 41 operating independent station KMCI 38. The federal government prevents anyone from actually owning more than one television station per city.
