    This the perfect time for fmr. Mayor Cleaver to go to Washington DC. Why?
    Much closer scrutiny of his behavior and ethics (than being here in KC with
    his good ol’ buddies). Not around town messing up Kansas City. Freshman
    congressman with very little power other than to just preen and strut.
    Member of a minority party that is adrift and can only shoot blanks.
    And, he will stay sober, unlike his predecessor. In short, he is out of
    town and guaranteed to be inconsequential.

    Cleaver is the right man for Kansas City to have in DC. He is well-liked by informed people in both parties, and can be counted upon to advocate for Kansas City’s best interests.
