Texting Snow Days

This winter, students in the Platte County R-3 District (Platte City and KC North) can get notified of school closings by text message, instead of waiting for the TV, radio, or Web. The Park Hill and Smithville districts will also be offering this service in the future. All three districts are using locally-based TextCaster, which also powers SMS updates from the likes of KSHB-TV 41, Metro Sports, CMSU, and Rockhurst High School.
