Royals pull out of Downtown stadium talks
February 13, 2005 |
Just a few weeks after agreeing to talk with Downtown stadium proponents, David Glass does an about face and says the Royals have decided to stay at the Truman Sports Complex until their lease ends in 2014. Glass’ main argument was that Royals fans are happy at Kauffman Stadium, thus preferring to be surrounded by trailer parks, junk yards, and Denny’s. The team will now focus on the August 2005 vote for a quarter cent sales in Jackson County to pay for stadium upgrades.
