Jeanne Patterson’s consolation prize
March 23, 2005 |
Jeanne Patterson gave Emanuel Cleaver a good run for his money, spending millions of her own money, but her attempt to buy a Congressional seat for her husband’s company was not successful. She didn’t spend too much time licking her wounds in Loch Lloyd. Governor Blunt recently rewarded her efforts in challenging the Democratic superstar by appointing her to the Missouri Coordinating Board for Higher Education, the body that supposedly oversees the largely independent state colleges and universities.
Patterson has no direct experience work or policy experience in higher education, but does represent the business community that consumes universities’ educational products.
“My perspective that I bring to the CBHE is as an employer in the state of Missouri,” said Patterson. “It is extremely important that our state colleges and universities continue to graduate exceptional and employable candidates so that our workforce remains competitive across many fields.”
