A view from the north: In what should have been an easy walk away victory, veteran poitician and new democrat Theresa Loar lost 48 to 51 percent to an inexperienced newcomer. Her dozens of plain-paper and slick glossy mailers turned a lot of otherwise neutral people off. (Such as my family.) And some familiar with her vast experience, but still unimpressed, decided to vote for someone new, possibly just for a change. The opportunistic party switch didn’t help her either, especially in a mostly republican county.
And for those who thought the challenger didn’t offer much (and were probably right), well, I guess it didn’t take much.
