First KC Fringe Festival

May 17, 2005 |

This year is the first KC Fringe Festival, part of an international movement started in Edinburgh, Scotland as an alternative to the city’s official visual and performing arts festival. Fringe often features edgier, uncensored works of art, dance, theater, and more. KC’s fringe will be July 29-31 in the Crossroads Arts District and elsewhere in the Downtown area.

Oooh this sounds like it could be a ton of fun.

Very cool. I just hope it won’t be overrun by stroller-and-SUV crowd like First Fridays. It would be nice to have seem genuinely challenging underground work.
