Nothing has come of the rumors, so we think they were just that: rumors. Channel 5 would not have sat on a story this juicy. Nothing to see here, move along.

    I did some consulting work for United Restaurants a/k/a Johnny Dares. They problems occurred when the brought in an outside investor (their former Lady Baltimore toilet paper salesman), who invested $100,000, but the Glazer boys were still using the business as their personal piggy bank!
    Monotone brother Jeff Glazer was totally clueless as to how to manage ANY aspect of that business, but it was impossible to tell (or even politely suggest) ANYTHING to him.
    White-nosed brother Craig and Johnny Dare had an ego conflict almost immediately (Just before the grand opening I steered KCTV-5 reporters to Craig and they were intercepted by Johnny.)
    They had no systems in place and the antiquated leftover procedures from Stanford & Sons which were totally inadequate form the volume that the new format generated.
    Even their bookkeeper was lost; she wanted to use the old, slow inkjet printer for mundane financial reports, etc. when they had just purchased a new network-ready photocopier/printer that was 30 times faster.
    No, I’m not at all surprised of the events.
    I guess I should put in a claim at the bankrupcy, since I never got paid!

    Glad to see someone else’s voice from reality. I agree with you 100%. Craig is so out of touch – he claims that his family is the only one hurt by the closing. What about all his employees? He doesn’t care. Couldn’t even give them a courtesy call the next morning, just left them sitting on the curb. I had to beg for my check, every damn week. Craig would always try to put you off, or reduce the check amount, or claim he’d already paid it (as though he would know). None of those guys, in that office, ever listened to anyone. They’d all talk at once, just to hear their own voice.
    I’ve been told by friends that I should watch what I say, because the Glazers might sic one of their bouncers onto me. Pretty sad state of affairs when that is the kind of reputation they have.

    the glazers helped hundreds of Undeserving employees when they needed a “loan” for rent, carpayments or just to live on.. /these are the samed Disloyal people that never said thank-you for the X-mas bonus or the never paid back advance they got.. The same people that had no life outside of Stanfords or Westport that eat and drank for FREE without ever saying thank-you. There are even those of you out there that added thievery to your resume while employed. But hey guys, thanks for the loyalty, when NO AND I MEAN NO ONE else would even consider hiring or employing you you found a job at the club. Oh yea you forgot that part. One day perhaps one or two of you will actually have a business of your own and will understand a little better. The greater majority of you will continue to be the losers in life that you mascarade at now and then. Oh yea, if you really need a favor go asks the Kelly’s or even your own family members.. Look at Westport now without the anchor that held it together Stanford and Sons, its an inch away from being just like 39th and Troost. A worthless, blighted area with nowhere to go but down… Living Well Is The Best Revenge — old Spanish proverb and yes, we are Living Well!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
