Harrah’s Casino has two new concert venues and is jumping into the market for shows that usually go to the Uptown Theater or Beaumont Club. Plus, Downtown’s upcoming Power & Light District will feature several additional music venues. We’ll be happy if they can deliver on their promise of keeping Nickelback away from Midtown.

“Voodoo will be able to hold 850 to 1,000 people, and we’re going to go after major acts like Nickelback, Goo Goo Dolls, John Legend and the Killers,” Wilkey says. “We want to go after the 30-something crowd. We’ll also do older stuff, like Michael Buble. Willie Nelson we’re looking at right now. We’re talking about bringing Wilco in. You’ll probably see us open up with some standard stuff, like Kenny Rogers and Paul Anka.”
