Ugh! What complete and utter bullshit. Hey i heard you can make a pipe out of a Coke can… better shut down Coca-Cola! Individual rights are increasingly being trampled by christian fundamentialists who would have us all conform to their twisted religious views. These people are no better than the taliban and they control the government. I’m scared.
I feel safer already.
Equating religious conservatives to the Taliban is overstating things just a tiny bit. Just a tiny bit.
The “war” on drugs has been a bi-partisan disaster, supported by virtually every person in government. Republicans AND Dems love it.
It’s a perfect example of how governments and politicians think think: the drug problem can’t possibly be solved by changing the stupid laws, but it can certainly be solved by spending more money and writing even stricter laws to enforce the no-tolerance policy we have for drugs.
Until a bunch of libertarians take over the government, expect the war on drugs to escalate every year, no matter the results.
It is my understanding that the war on drugs was what killed Reagan in his prime of his presidential term but that isn’t what I wanted to say.
There is a great deal of money to be had by a city that has “head shops” and just from the three that I know of that were shut down they were making a lot of business and well the missouri state tax on cigarettes is also placed on accessories to smoking as well…at least I think.
And when a head shop has to prove itself of having products that will not be used for other things then there should be a question of what the F*** going on in ever citizens head as we are free people in america. So why do we have to give up our freesom to do what we choose.
The Christians say that we are free willed by the grace of God. So we cannot trust ourselves to not do something that is wrong. One person may have a PVC pipe and use it to fix a shower while someong else may make a smoking accessory.
I have a major problem with people punishing others for acts that they cannot control. “Head Shops” sell thier products for tobacco use. They cannot tell you that it will be used for something else unless you can see into the mind of the customer and see that it will not be used for some other reason.
In all I think that this is stupid because (1) The state lost money. (along with the owners of the shops that pay taxes.
(2) We a are punishing the Cat before it has the kittens that shit on the rug.
not all the head shops are gone. have you been to super flea lately? if you miss 7th heaven or coopers, mosey on down to the northeast area of k.c. and check out the 2-3 vendors inside super flea that are selling all the bongs and pipes your heart desires. super flea is located in the old monkey wards building on st.john and belmont.
