Subject: your tax dollars at work

KCMO Animal Control was contacted today to report a half dozen stray cats
living in an abandoned house @ 11 West 78th Street KCMO.

According to the Customer Service Counter @ KCMO Animal Control, "there is
no leash-law for cats in KCMO so, there is nothing KCMO Animal Control can
do about it" (ferrel cats). When asked what about the potential health risk to
the community posed by these animals who eat disease caring rodents, the
response was, "they do not actually eat the rodents but they carry it to
the trash." I suggested that I have never personally witnessed a stay cat
carry a dead rat to the trash. "Well they don't actually carry the dead
rat to the trash, they eat the trash." "Thank you - you have been very
helpful."
