I don't see a real problem with the death penalty in theory, but in practice there's always going to be terrible injustices like this. I don't have a real problem giving BTK a lethal injection, but balanced against the political and legal mechanics that lead to wrong decisions by police, lawyers, government officials, judges, and juries, I don't think the death penalty is good policy. Stories like this are just awful.
