Tony Ortega leaving the Pitch

August 23, 2005 |

This one comes from a reader tip… Pitch managing editior Tony Ortega is departing for a New Times’ weekly in southern Florida. During Ortega’s tenure there has been a noticable improvement in the Pitch’s investigative and journalistic caliber, as well as an embrace of the local blogoshpere.

Dooooode. Do you hate me? I love you. I love your laugh, your charm, your musk. I think we should get an apartment together. I had this link yesterday without the Fenway Park-like registration wall.

Share the local blogger love. Share it damn you.

By the way, comments like these are why I don’t have them.

KC will miss Tony Ortega. I’ve never met the guy in person, but he did send me a nice email once. Tony rocked KC and the Pitch.

Dammit. I guess I will be skipping directly to the music section of the pitch, rather than starting off with the strip.

Tony leaving will make some difference. How much depends on David Martin being able to sell C J Janovy on the idea of real news. Not what C J thinks Steve Glorioso will think is real news.
