Mark Forsythe is announcing his candidacy for the Kansas City, MO 4th In-District City
Council seat.

Mark is a long-time Brookside resident and a member of Visitation Parish. He has a B.S.
degree in Electronic Engineering Technology from DeVry University and a MBA in
Finance from the University of Kansas. He is 39 years old and has 15 years experience in
technical sales, project management and systems analysis.

He is married to Nicole Forsythe, professional violist with Ensemble Con Brio and an
occasional sub with the Kansas City Symphony. She also works part time as a legal
assistant for King and Wright L.L.C. and volunteers for various arts organizations in
Kansas City.

In 2002, Mayor Kay Barnes appointed Mark to the KC-GO Competitive Review
Committee (CRC). The CRC worked closely with various City departments in reviewing
their policies and procedures and provided assistance in improving government
efficiency.

At the present time, he serves on three local boards of directors: Downtowners

Wornall Homestead Homes Association.

Mark has extensive community experience having participated in many committees

Advisory Committee and the Civic Council Downtown Corridor Plan Advisory
Committee. He has also done past volunteer work for the Shepherd’s Center, and the
Rose Brooks Shelter.

Forsythe said, “In my role as a homes association president and community activist I
have met many people and observed our City government in action. I am persuaded that
the people of my district want a leader who is responsive to their needs, knowledgeable in
both the operational and financial aspects of government, and has the ability to promote
sound policies, especially in the area of economic development. I can, and will provide
that leadership.” “My experience, strong educational background and knowledge of City
departmental procedures will make me an effective councilperson.”

Anyone have an inventory of 4th district candidates?

If he has the energy to do all of those things, and our wonderful mayor (please run again) has faith in him, then he’s probably as good a candidate as we’re going to get. I think KC is pretty lucky to have the quality of representation we have; not perfect, but what is?

I’m pretty happy with Ezekiel Amador, he seems like a great choice for our district. http://www.ezekielamador.com/
