JoCo prosecutor running for Kansas A.G.
October 25, 2005 |
Johnson County, KS District Attorney Paul Morrison announced today that he will switch to the Democratic Party and take on incumbent Kansas Attorney General Phill Kline. Kline’s candidacy and first term has been dogged by weak legal credentials and a political agenda focused on radical religious politics. Morrison’s defection is another sign that an increasingly radical Kansas Republican Party has little room for moderates.

Radical Republicans seeking bigger government that imposes Christian views on everyone. Socialist big government agenda thinly disguised as Democratic reforms. ‘Makes it easy to hop from one party to the other when both share that all-important big government philosophy.
Exactly, Northeast Guy. All things considered, I’d probably rather have the religious right running big government than the secular socialists, but really it’s a lose either way.
As a former Republican, it’s depressing to see the conservative movement embrace all the big government nonsense that they formerly criticized lefties for. Oh well.
Why can’t a party be laissez faire on social issues AND government/economic issues? I don’t see the disconnect there.
Small government combined with huge country that has extensive infrastructure and complex social issues equals major disaster. Libertarians are delusional. The only people more delusional are Communists. They are just two political extremes with equally unrealistic views of what is possible given human nature and the reality of what is necessary to govern a modern society.
