Kansas City Brigade is the name of the Arena Football League team starting up in January. The team will play two seasons at Kemper Arena and then move to the Sprint Center arena in 2008. Union Broadcasting in Johnson County, KS has signed on to broadcast the team’s games on WHB-AM 810 and 97.3 FM. Here is the teams logo, featuring the Stealth Bomber, which is based here in Missouri at Whiteman Air Force Base.

I used to love watching the Brigade at Kemper Arena, but I doubt I will be attending games at the new Sprint Center. At Kemper Arena they had a specific gate that fans could go outside and smoke and then re-enter the game. Sprint Center tells me that no such accomadations will be made for smokers. I believe that this will hurt the bottom line for the Brigade and for the Sprint Center (including alcohol sales. I wish they would come up with some sort of compromise like Kemper Arena had. I can’t see what it hurts for smokers to go outside, in a designated area, smoke a cigarette, and re-enter the game.
