Another chapter in river city’s most boring and contrived media rivalry, in which Pitch editor C.J. Janovy goes off on The Star’s Hearne Christopher, Jr.’s annual slamming of their Best of KC issue. C.J., these days Hearne seems to get more scoops in Lawrence than in KC itself, so don’t worry too much about his opinion. And Hearne, the Pitch is part of large, ever-growing, and profit-driven media corporation, just like your own newspaper. Ads are what pays the bills, so get over it.

Aw. C’mon man. I don’t think it’s boring. I mean, it’s not Kelly Eckerman and Katie Horner in a hot oil wrestling match but it’s pretty funking funny if you ask me. It’s like two whores arguing over who wears more eyeshadow. Priceless.
I don’t think much of Hearne Christopher, but I am glad he exposed the “best of” sham. It is nothing more than a gimmick to sell advertising, and the Pitch’s endorsements mean nothing.
There’s no “sham” to be exposed. It’s very obvious.
