Plaza lighting ceremony
November 24, 2005 | 2 Comments
If you are heading down to the Plaza lighting ceremony this year, a couple of things are different. The stage is located at 47th & Wyandotte, in front of Restoration Hardware and Mark Shale. Pre-lighting entertainment starts at 6:30pm with the Chiefs cheerleaders and the UMKC Conservatory of Dance. Dick Vermeil and wife Carol are flipping the switch at 7:00 pm, followed by new fireworks at 7:25 pm above the Fairmont Hotel.
Another new option this year is the MAX express bus. Avoid the traffic by parking Downtown, at Crown Center, or in Brookside or Waldo. Just be sure to allow plenty of time since it will run on the less frequent Sunday schedule (every 30 minutes) and will only stop at 47th & Main.
