Suburban woman swallows (her phone)

We have another local Darwin Award candidate! The Star reports that a Blue Springs, MO woman went to the ER this morning after attempting to swallow her mobile phone and getting it stuck in her throat. This may our best chance for a nomination since the south side’s one-legged bandit.

Update: So much for the snark. It turns out that the woman didn’t swallow the phone, instead her boyfriend shoved it down her throat!

    Update! Turns out the woman was a victim of domestic abuse and that she didn’t voluntarily swallow that phone.

    now the story is that she was abducted by a former boyfriend who tried to get her to tell him who she was going out with now. he parked at a strip mall and after getting no good answer from the young lady he stuffed her phone down her throat. her parents said that if it hadn’t been for the first responders and the docs in the hospital she would of died.

    i guess hearing what really happened takes all the jokes out of it.
