Beverage Synergy
January 29, 2006 |
Remember the giant Hometown Brew mural that The Roasterie and Boulevard Beer put up in the Crossroads a few years ago? Now there’s some more local beverage synergy going on… Espresson dell’Anatra, one of the more interesting local coffee houses, is now using locally produced Shatto milk. Espresso dell’Anatra is in the Chouteau Crossings strip mal, off of I-35 North at 4335 NE Choteau Trfwy 64117, and features pastries and wireless Internet. They also serve PT’s Coffee from Topeka, Ks. The Shatto farm is located near Cameron and it’s hormone-free milk is available in glass bottles at most metro area groceries.

Hey, this coffee tastes like Shatto!
I’m not drinking this Shatto.
Who Shatto in my coffee?
Honey, your coffee tastes like Shatto and that’s why I’m leaving you.
I’ll think up more later but that’s enough to make me laugh for now. And I like my coffee the same way I like my women: Icy cold, from Starbucks, overpriced, generic, full of hormones, bitter and disposable.
Hurray for the locally produced, healthy milk. Now if our coffee sellers would only commit to fair-trade beans. KC is a good coffee town, but I buy my fair-trade beans on the internet from Minneapolis ! That’s silly. Roasterie and others should get with the program and go all fair-trade !
