January 13, 2006 |

Hannibal BridgeShutterbug alert… This Sunday is your chance to see something a little unusual, a large railroad bridge moving through the streets of Downtown. The event is the relocation of the 1892 Pencoyd railroad bridge from the riverfront to Union Station There it will be used for a pedestrian bridge across the train tracks that separate the station from the Freight House building and the Crossroads District to the north.

The big move will take place sometime between 5:00 a.m. an Noon on Sunday, when Grand Blvd will be closed between 3rd and 20th Streets.

I hope someone takes some pics for those not still in KC and missing it! This should be quite a site. Is there enough room to go through the entertainment district? I thought Grand was closed but maybe I am remembering incorrectly.
