Few Missouri Democrats are anywhere near the left. Most would actually Republicans if they were in a bigger state. The House District that is in question is 132nd (not the 123rd) district. I can assure you party affiliation in the Southern Part of MO is irrelevant. Due to the idealogy of the each of these candidates is tradionally more aligned on the conservative side. It is very difficult to get elected in SWMO as a Democrat if you are too far to the left.
