I am really tired of the wall to wall and unecessay weather info put out by Katie when 99% percent of the viewers are not affected and the affected viewers are in thier basements or the wind has knocked out the electricity. We all appreciate technology but enough is enough.Come on and tell us what we need to know and get off the air.

Personally, I appreciate the coverage when there is severe weather and I have to say it is a lot more interesting than a lot of the TV shows.

I think Katie does a wonderful job and I always appreciate seeing her instead of someone else. I like her explanations of what is happening and why. Maybe some of you don't care, but some of us do. I may be nearing 50, but I still like to learn.

I am angry enough to severely batter the weather idiots at tv ch.5. After years of screaming profanities at tv weather PERSONALITIES, I have reached the end of my endurance. This ch. 5 weather punk interrupts the Bridgestone Golf Tournament with two holes remaining, which eventually ended with a four hole playoff between Tiger Woods and Stewart Cink, and finally won by Tiger Woods. This punk promised to get back to golf- he NEVER DID!!!!!I knew Katie Horner would not be far behind!!! There's no way she's going to be left out of the action! She couldn't get there fast enough! She must have grabbed her dirty softball garb out of the hamper!"I don't care what I look like - I've got to save HUMANITY!!!!!"
UNTIL WE ALL BAND TOGETHER AGAINST THESE IMBECILES, THEY WILL CONTINUE TO INVADE OUR LIVES! WE HAVE GOT TO FIND A WAY TO STOP THEM! BOYCOTTS!, CLASS ACTION LAWSUITS!, WHATEVER!!!!! I HAVE EXCEEDED THE ANGER OF ROAD RAGE! I NEVER get headaches, but these weather GODS can bring one on instantaneously!!!!!
I'm not even going to discuss the fact that anyone in harm's way has multiple sources of information to call on - but, NO, this would deprive the WEATHER GODS their glorious 15 minutes!!!!!

I just think Katie is the greatest, so informative, interesting and presonable, and knowlageable. However, I was wondering where Ted Baxter transfered too. I just wanted to make sure he is okay and let you know we really got a kick out of him.

I'll have to agree with most of these posts. KCTV 5's weather coverage has become so over-the-top that people don't take it serousely anymore.

Isurvived,

I am kind of amazed at how defensive you are about this.
I acknowledged your terrible situation and good fortune in escaping the storm without injury especially considering all the vehicles that were blown off the road near Sweet Springs.

I also find your attitude towards my tornado advice puzzling. The National Weather Service recommends that during tornadic weather you should NEVER take shelter inside a vehicle, and you shouldn't ever try to outrun one. I would hate for someone else reading this blog to think that just because things worked out for you, that they should try this strategy too - they might not be so lucky.

As for a nuclear attack, you brought up that subject! I just figured if Katie knows exactly where tornadoes will land, she might be able to get me safely through a atom bomb strike! :)

I still think that Katie's antics are over the top, and meant to boost ratings and her ego (couldn't she feed information to other weather people from OFF-screen?) KCTV has had no problem using Sunday's disasters in their new weather commercials!
However, I guess she somehow through all of her colored maps and talk of quadruple-viper-doppler radar got you the information you needed, and that's a good thing.

One final thing: not that I feel I must defend myself, but since you suggested I was some kind of tv zombie that couldn't tear myself away from the tube, wasn't it television watching that saved your life? Perhaps we should all watch more tv!

ChrisM70,

We called our families before leaving and they informed us of the weather. Having checked with them and the national weather service, we concluded that we would be between storms and could travel safely. Unfortunately, there was a semi overturned on the highway and we sat for nearly two hours. While the weather advanced, we did not! When we could travel again, it was too late. We were right in it!

This is my third experience with a tornado. I grew up here too, and I have never experienced anything like the weather Sunday. It was incredible.

Since you were so kind with your tornado advice, please allow me to assist you.

It would seem that a nuclear attack would not be weather related but rather news. So since you would be looking for Katie and would not find her, here is my advice to you....In the event of nuclear attack, you would probably be on fire at the very least, so you should just stop, drop and roll! I am sure you would be just fine and then could continue to watch TV!
