That sucks.
Anybody know of a place in greater KC where a guy can still buy a bong? Or do I have to drive to Lawrence?
Burlington Coat Factory sells bongs… they call them vases tho lol. you just have to drill the hole yourself with a glass cutting drillbit. If you need a slider superpiece.com can hook you up =)
I’m a little curious… what is considered drug paraphernalia? How do they know that the stuff is for illegal drugs?
Also, hasn’t this guy been selling “tobacco smoking accessories” for years? So why are they arresting him now? It appears in the story that the police really are bringing the hammer down on this guy.
One final question:
I’m not endorsing this guy’s activities, but can’t we find something better for the police to worry about?
Car Jackings? Meth Labs? Murders?
Selling bongs to hippies seems like a pretty minor crime.
Chris, I agree. Three weeks ago one of my cars took a small caliber bullet through a side window overnight. I live in a stately old home on Gladstone Blvd one block east of the Kansas City Museum and, up until now, crime has kept its distance. Anyway, I called KC’s finest and they took a report over the phone feeling no need to visit the scene of the crime in person. I let the dispatcher know that the crime fighters had seen fit to visit my street twice in the last five months to tag my truck for having its front license plate on the dash board instead of the bumper but that went right over her head. From what I can tell, unless its a crime against the state, KC’s finest aren’t going to bother with you.
FYI, this the federal government that raided and prosecuted 7th Heaven, not the KCPD.
That’s a good point, but the Feds should have better things to do as well.
Catch Terrorists? Protect or Civil Liberties? Track down interstate felons? Arrest REAL drug criminals?
Nope. Instead, they are going to tap your phone, secretly imprison people, and cover up naked statues (Ashcroft’s orders!).
what do expect with the neo/nazi we have as prez? the goon squad that does his bidding aka dea is empowered to rape and pillage in the name of god/country,we gave away far to much in the homeland insecurity act
No seriously there are no more “gift shops” what? I’m from the greater part of the Bible Belt and I have to tell you I have seen these stores in every major city (Little Rock, Louisville, Tallahasse, Atlanta and many more) that have been in operation for years with few problems or perhaps the ocasional fine. Why the crackdown in KC? Is this just one of the guys that didn’t run his buisness the right way to begin with or is he being persecuted by or facist government? Does it not seem like we are losing ground in the fight to legalize some substances anyway? when it should be the opposite knowing the majority of America would have to be quite hypocritical to object to it? Oviously there was a push for this to happen in the KC area to bring the feds here first. Perhaps potheads are too tolerant and passive(great qualities) and won’t speak up for there rights as Americans or humans.
Marvelous. Thanks, will spread this among my friends!
I always have terrible trouble with comment-related plugins that require me to put some line in the comment loop; I can never seem to find the right spot. Can anyone tell me where I should put the php line in my comments loop? I haven not modified anything much, and I would be very grateful. Thanks!
