Blunt giving up?

July 31, 2006 | 4 Comments

Missouri State CapitolEmbattled Missouri Governor Matt Blunt might end up as a one-term governor by choice.  He recently told the Springfield News-Leader that he “may decide not to run again.”  Perhaps he has tired of being one of the most unpopular governors in the country.  There are also rumors that he’ll run for Senate when Kit Bond retires, or perhaps his dad’s House seat.  The latter might explain why kept is Springfield residency instead of moving into the governor’s mansion in Jeff City.

    Blunt might leave voluntarily?

    That would be GREAT!

However, the Dems might want to run a dead guy against him, just to make sure he loses!

    Hey, it worked against Ashcroft…

    Mel Carnahan in ‘08!

I’m not sure I know what motivates Blunt. It seems he is working to build the perfect resume for a future office, but I don’t know what he is passionate about. Losing the governor’s race would be a major blot on resume and 2 terms wouldn’t be any more impressive than 1.

Whatever he runs for next, I hope we can learn more about who Blunt is.

I just hope Blunt goes AWAY!

He’s a TERRIBLE governor, and has a strong smell of corruption – just like his father.

    Todd,

Given that I have a friend who is paying the price for what Blunt and his fellow Republicans have done to Medicaid I think I already know everything I need to know about him.
