What is next . . . Restroom priveledges revolked, phone priviledges revolked, smoking breaks revolked? Get these highly paid goverment employees some avenue to vent. I would rather see them e-mail or blog then the many of countless of other things that they may do.

Does anyone really believe that Kathryn suddenly is obsessed with employee productivity? If so, does anyone really buy that there are only two county employees who aren't productive? As Sherlock once said "If you eliminate the impossible, what remains must be true." Everyone who has ever had dealings with the Mad Cow knows what the story is here; She knows that Old Charlie was senile even back in about 1980, and thus she can continue to basically run the show like some low budget Tammany Hall. Has anyone heard the rumor that Freedom Inc. is paying kids to steal Sanders signs? You'd roll your eyes and think it was false if you didn't know the players involved.

A long time back (in the mid 90's) I used to be able to get around corporate blocks by using the hard IP instead of the URL. Don't know if that works anymore. Maybe an IT guru who reads this blog has some ideas?

Maybe they should make their phones only dial a few numbers, kind of like those kid's cell phones. You wouldn't want anyone calling home during the day.
Bandwith concern I can understand. If people are streaming KCUR and downloading videos that might be too much of a strain on the system. Reading a simple blog. Come on.
Maybe they will take away newspapers at the doors too.

I'd rather have employees waste time on the net than take 10 smoke breaks a day..
