The Star has a big front-page profile of local sculptor STRETCH, but it’s not about his art. The piece focuses on his contributions to the redevelopment of Downtown, both physically and culturally.

@BlogKC
that stretch is one helluva guy. hopefully when i grow up i can be as productive.
heh… grow up…
Brad Nicholson’s praise doesn’t hold much water for me. He might be a high-profile developer of the area, but he’s also one of the worst pricks of a person I’ve ever met.
it’s interesting that 34th and Tracy is “the urban frontier” to some, namely the Star, and “home” or “the nieghborhood” to others. Interesting indeed. That area is still full of folks, whether they be considered wholesome or not.
Stretch a prick? I’ve talked to him several times and he seems like a really nice guy, just very driven and not tolerant of people screwing things up.
I didn’t say stretch was a prick, I was talking about Brad Nicholson. Not my fault if you can’t read.
