PBS’ Newshour recently in KC and Sedalia for a big story on the Senate race between Jim Talent and Claire McCaskill. Most of the piece was dedicated to the impact of the stem cell issue on the race. It also featured lots of commentary from Democratic blogger Roy Temple of Rolla and Republican blogger Jeff Roe at Muddy’s in KC.

Nice that the race is getting national attention but those websites are splogs sponsored by political parties . . . Too bad they’re being touted as bloggers . . . They aren’t. They are hack politicos and people shouldn’t confuse the the two or give much regard to the mouthpieces of political machines.
Interesting video, but campaigns always turn on one thing…
MONEY.
Jim Talent has lots of corporate people throwing buckets of cash at him (Including private Bush fund-raisers). McCaskill has very little since she is mostly siding with the working people, and not the special interests of big money businesses.
Let’s hope McCaskill can bring Talent down anyway, especially considering his lock-step voting with Bush on the Iraq Quagmire.
THIS JUST IN:
I just read a story that says the following:
A new poll shows Republican Sen. Jim Talent and Democratic challenger Claire McCaskill are about even in their race for the U.S. Senate.
There might be hope after all!
With the stem cell initiative on the ballot, and all the advertising being done by pro-stem cell organizations, I am hoping it will sway in McCaskill’s favor.
