Willies now open, Hayes to follow

Almost year after our first report, the western outpost of Columbia’s Willie’s Pool Hall has now opened at the southeast corner of 15th and Grand. Unfortunately the Downtowners anxiously waiting to get their pool fix close to home, the KC venue of Willie’s is not an actual pool hall. However, they are talking about adding a rooftop deck for summer 2007, which should have some awesome views of the Sprint Center arena.

Willie’s joins Harpo’s and the Brooksider as official sports bars of the KC Tiger Club, meaning half price appetizers for club members.

Also, last week’s Biz Journal confirms earlier reports of the Northland’s Hayes Hamburgers and Chili coming Downtown. They are working on a 24 hour diner near Willie’s that should be another very welcomed addition to the Crossroads.

    Ummm, Hayes coming to downtown should give Town Topic a run for their money, especially since the prices at TT seem to go up every time I set foot in the place. And I think Hayes makes a killer grilled tenderloin…I can’t wait for it to open!
