Cross-X is his story of the debate team at Central High School and their domination of white suburban opponents all over the land. I can’t endorse the book yet, but hope to read it very soon. Joe will be on NPR’s All Things Considered today at 2:00 p.m. His book tour stops in KC on November 7 and December 7.

Talk of the Nation, October 31, 2006 · At Kansas City’s Central High, a school where 2/3 never graduate, the debate team took on racism and elitism, and beat some top-ranked, and much wealthier, schools. Writer Joe Miller talks about the team and how he wound up joining it.
