UPDATE: Beth now has a place-holder web site up at beth4kc.com

You’ve probably read all about the big blogosphere dust-up this week when the Pitch “outed” Tony’s Kansas City as being the son of Rita Valenciano. Tony took a lot of criticism for his harsh attacks on Beth Gottstein, who is running for City Council against Rita. I won’t rehash the details that you can read for yourself at the links below.

I’m interested in Beth. She’s bitching to the Pitch and everyone else around town about how unfair Tony is, and she is upset that TKC comes up first when you Google her name…

So where is Beth’s blog? Hell, forget the blog, where is Beth’s campaign web site? Beth, stop whining, start a blog, and defend yourself. Don’t leave it to other bloggers to stick up for you. Join the debate, tell us what you think, argue back, do something! To me the whole thing is just another example of a dinosaur politician burned by a lack of Internet savvy and struggling to figure out a new medium.

    Good question. I’ know I’ve been nagging my mom to get up to date on her blog/website for about a week but it seems like every candidate other than Forsythe is so scared of the net because they don’t have absolute “control” over the medium at least IMHO.

    The real story is this shows how juvenile Tony really is. If the guy had anything legitimate to say, he’d leave out the porn, and BE HONEST and admit his conflict of interest.

    For the record, I stood up for Tony (although I’m not sure he saw it that way — and, for the record, I thought he was more of a Pizza-Rolls-for-lunch kind of guy, not snackcakes).

    To be honest, it’s much ado about nothing since Tony has pretty much blasted everyone in this town at some point or another. To think Beth is special speaks more of ego than reality.

    Since when did the Pitch out Tony? I am pretty sure that anyone with any clue into the Latino Community or politics in general already knew that Tony was Rita’s son.

    The only thing that The Pitch has outed in the last year was apparently their good writers and progressive activism. I can’t believe that in one month they trash the best blogger in KC and practically praise Kobach!

    I like Ms. Gottstein, I like Rita. Both will be great.

    Keep up the informative writing TKC.
