The Examiner notes that today the Missouri River is forecast to reach a record low level of 3 feet. Yeah, you read that right. The Mighty Mo will only be 3 feet deep today. Get out your rubber boots, because today is your chance to wade across the river. The US Geological Survey has a real-time monitor of the river level Downtown.

Considering the Army Corps dredged the channels through town long ago. It’s probably not a good idea to go wading across the river in sub freezing temperatures.

They had this story on the news the other day but forgot to mention the big reason why the MO river is at it’s lowest stage; because USACE is witholding water in the upper reaches to protect some birds…which is probably a good idea.
