The Pitch’s David Martin exposes the so-called Citizens Association as a pay-for-endorsement cabal of movers and shakers, not the iconic housewives with brooms image that they still perpetuate. Kudos to David for taking on a powerful and cantankerous group of power brokers.

Street performers descend on City Hall to testify against a panhandling ban that would also put legitimate artists out of business.

A big development is coming to KC and they aren’t asking for any tax breaks. Seriously. A private developer is leasing 300 acres of extra land at the airport for a private race track, netting the city almsot $30 million over 50 years.

The man that brought internet pervs and other sleaze to KCTV-5 is heading out of town. News Director Regent Ducas is taking a similar job in Dallas.

Another local institution bites the bust…

no tax breaks? i think i just crapped my pants.

the citizens association really deserves the negative attention. it sounds so innocuous on the surface until you scratch around. i think the more upsets to the status quo the better. how about a light rail line that takes down the commerce tower through emminent domain? wasn’t it considered blighted recently?
