Funkhouser pledges to close Downtown

KCRag has a great piece about Mark Funkhouser’s “promise” to end the TIFs and just close Downtown completely. Downtown residents are probably kicking themselves for not voting.

Some people need to get the facts straight.
Mark wants to stop TIFs that are not needed.
Such bulding a Hotel with a 100% TIF North of the river when the [Marriott]Muehlebach need about $1 million a year out of the general fund each year. Could be that’s why the Northland still is short on having a full staffing of the Police Dept.
Larry, it’s satire. Calm down.
That is why we really need a sarcastic font – tough at times to get that to come across in print. This is going to be an interesting race at least, even without the hilariously bad Roe hit pieces.
