Hot on the heels of a second, bigger TIF for BriarTIF West is a mind-boggling third TIF. First it was a regular TIF from KCMO to develop offices, a strip mall, and McMansions – including Mayor Barnes’ new house. Most recently it was a SuperTIF to develop more offices and a luxury hotel.
Today The Star reports that that the Briarcliff development is set to get a third TIF. Having drunk up the entire public subsidy trough in KCMO, Charles Garney and his minions have now set their sights on Riverside. BriarTIF will soon be expanding west across the city border with more condos and McMansions.
We HAVE to get Coe and Fairfield out of city hall now — I can’t even wait another week or two…
Well it looks like Brooks won’t be getting much TIF for the eastside Score another one for the blighted Northland.
