Story behind the Migrant Mother photograph

One of America’s most famous photographs will go on display at the Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art in June, when the new Block building opens. Dorothea Lange’s iconic Depression-era Migrant Mother is part of the massive Hallmark photography collection recently acquired by the Nelson. Jason Kottke has more on the history of that photograph.
