Memorial Day Ooos and Ahhs

Memorial Day is this coming Monday, May 28th.

  • Celebration at the Station – The Kansas City Symphony plays patriotic tunes in front of Union Station, Sunday at 7:30 pm followed by fireworks. Last year’s event had 20,000+ visitors. Using public transportation would be a smart idea. While the ATA will be doubling service on the Max, it would also be wise to look for other buses going Downtown. You can also use the new pedestrian bridge from the Crossroads.
  • The Zoo takes the covers off their new carousel on Friday. Also check out the cute koalas.
  • Liberty Memorial will be Monday and has events planned all weekend long.
  • Great American BBQ Festival at the Woodlands, Saturday – Monday.
  • Worlds of Fun and Oceans of Fun fully open for the summer.
