Scarritt Renaissance Homes Tour
Check out many of the beautifully restored homes in this historic neighborhood in Old Northeast KC.

Kansas City Literary Festival
This is a new and hopefully annual event that looks to be starting off quite big.  The main action is Saturday on the Plaza, but some events are taking place Friday and Sunday.  There willbe lots of authors, poets, kids activities, local bookstores, food, and even booze.  Head down Pennsylvania and Nichols Road (48th Street), next to the Penguin Court and the movie theater.

Columbus Park gallery openings
Art isn’t just for First Fridays in the Crossroads.  A growing number of art galleries are popping up in the Columbus Park neighborhood just east of the River Market, and they stay open late on the third Friday of the month.  There is some great art without the hordes of people seeing and being seen.

39th Street Art Walk
Another Third Friday  scene is in the Volker neighborhood along West 39th Street between State Line Road and Southwest Trafficway. Art, food, and live music are all available.
